. Traffic is one of the main UHI effects. This is the effect of a null and poorly planned urban system. . Over construction. Actually the urban plannings are changing in pro of the contructions. They made a mistake allowing contructions out the city without infraestructure, but know they see people don't want to live there because it is really expensive, so know they are traing to change our horizontal city into a vertical city. It can be a good solution but we aren't planning correctly. . Deforestation. We area a valley surrounded by mountains. This mountains allow enter clean air to the city and take out the pollution. At the same time it make our city remain in a template climate. But forests that clean the aire had been being destroyed. This is the recent new area of construction where the the big concrete areas with a high density of vehicles are constantly growing due losing green areas. ![General view of recent constructions][1] This is an image of the forest call "La Primavera" that you can be there in less than 10 minutes. The the lung of our city but each day we are losing natual area and changing them for high residence areas. !["La Primavera" forest][2] 3. Which are the measures you would propose? . First continue with some initiative that are starting to progress like the "via recreactiva" consite on sundays and holidays are closed some avenues fore cars and people can go out and ride their bycicles or run or whatever they can to do without a motor vehicle. . Think in a real public transportation system. . Protect our natural areas, and be more extrict with the green areas in new constructions. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? Yes it concern. Actually there is a group, where I was a member during one year, that makes a protection ring surrounding the forest. Also the goverment is trying to implement drons that help the detection and the extiction of posible fires. They are making the third line of urban train that will conect north with south. We have know a big problem with an illegal construction that was made during the panamerican games. They where built in an important where all rainwater is captured and distribuited part of the city. They want to make more contructions but that will affect to the whole city. That was an idea of the old goverment. The new goverment is trying to stop those kinds of ideas.
