In my city I noticed that temperature in city center is much higer than in rural space around city. The average annual temerature in city center is 9,4 C than in rural space around the city is 8,4 C. The air is polluted also. Particulate matter is very important problem. The amount of particulates in city center is more than 35 μg/m3 (acceptable is 26). Sometimes the air is so polluted that it's easy to see dust in air and smog. ![What influance UHI in city center in Warsaw][1] ![Rural space around Warsaw][2] ---------- **Which are the measures you would propose?** First, I would like to propose to improve public transport. I think it will be more efficient people will willing to use it. I think in city should be more tram and underground lines which are more friendly for environment. Next step should be social campaign which inform people about air pollution and UHI. I think the way how people heat their houses is very important also. Buildings shouldn't be heated by coal and should have insulation. In city should be located ventilating ducts, full of green space which can help with air circulation. ---------- **Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area?** This is very sad but I have never heard about any policy in Warsaw. In Poland the air pollution and particulate matter is very big problem and I noticed that cities can't deal with it.
