If this is not easy, you can think and comment on one of the following three alternatives:** 1. Think and comment on an existing Citizen Design Science project in urban design and planning from your area or country. 2. Think and comment on the following example: Habitats of a certain neighborhood don’t feel safe when they walk in their neighborhood in the evening and during the night. You are working for the local government and want to solve this problem through improvement of the public spaces. 3. How would you start-up a Citizen Design Science project? Imagine that you have set up a project wherein you would like to make use of Citizen Design Science. Which guidelines are important in creating your own Citizen Design Science project? Number 3: We learned this week that, Citizen Design Science is a participatory way of planning. It gives different stake holders of different backgrounds the chance to make a collective judgment and decision through an information stream. In my City of Parañaque (which is collectively part of metro manila), a big issue that Citizen Design Science can contribute to is transportation. If we could create an app or at least integrate site specific data collection with social media accounts of the different citizens (via location tags and image searches) we could essentially monitor much more than traffic on the ground. ![enter image description here][1] I would start the program by harnessing current information technology like location tags, image recognition software, data algorithms, etc… I would combine them into one information network so it can feed off the data that comes from social networking sites. Once you set up that kind of information architecture then you can set up the guide lines. They are as follows: 1. Data is public property. 2. Both public and private institutions can have access to the data. 3. People can react to the data. 4. People can further supplement the data. 5. We will create a platform for people to give suggestions on what to do based on the available data. 6. We will create quarterly (it can be more frequent) petitions for possible implementation of collective suggestions. It is when the people are heard and when people are involved, that make for a more livable and a more diverse city. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14501742596839362.png
