![enter image description here][1] The designing activities of such projects are participatory; however, the final design is decided by municipal authorities based on suggestions made by several experts (engineers, architects, economists, lawyers, sociologists, social workers, etc.). Thinking on a possible new phase of neighborhood improvement projects, I would like to propose designing them considering CDS. This means adding value to those projects by community-led design, instead of expert-led design. My first thoughts are using available technologies, social media and other traditional ways of gathering information (surveys, workshops, etc.) to design or redesign infrastructures, spaces and services in the new selected neighborhoods, considering the needs, aspirations and creativity of the people who are going to use them. I am aware that this approach implies not only overcoming economic, financial and technological barriers, but also a strong cultural change in terms of planning methods and participatory processes. However, it could be feasible, especially taking into account the stronger need to respond with representative solutions at all levels of society.
