Madrid is on the middle of Spain and it controls more or less the rest of spain because it is where all the services are located. Goverment, companies,banks, big hospitals, best universities...... **a. Provisioning services** Raw material like wood come in part from the community of Madrid but the rest is imported. With a very good situation in the middle of the country with a really good connection to the rest of spain, that is why all kinds of quality fresh food are on the same day provided from the rest of the country. Fresh water is collected from the north of Madrid, from the mountains, formed by granite, that gives Madrid a really high quality and cool water during all year, enough for a population of 5 million. Dams are distributed in the mountain for this objective. Regulating services** Madrid is the city of Europe with more trees per m2, but that is not enough because trees in Spain are smaller and have less water from rain than north of Europe. We have because of the Mountains enough water to supply all this green area. Madrid is also hot and polluted because the high pollution and the high number of private transportation inside the city, that suppose an extra cargo of particles of gases and contamination for the leaves of the trees. There is also a high control in agricultural and forested areas and an acceptable degree of biological control. ![enter image description here][2] **c. Habitat or Supporting services** Habitats for species are a really important thing in the protected areas of the mountains and forests north of the capital but on the other side the city has not much control on this area, most of the species of the city have disappear and are only stablish on the biggest parks. **d. Cultural services** Madrid has a high number of recreational activities and cultural live is totally into the city live. There is a high meaning of design, art and culture. The poor population can´t not afford a good cultural situation because of the crisis but there is a high number of services for supplying all the needed in this therms.
