(a) Provisioning services: The picture shown below is of "Vita Fairgate Farm" which is a community powered farm. The farm is all organic and is developed purely on community volunteering. They harvest nearly 80 varieties of fruits and vegetables and is delivered to local agencies in Stamford. Apart from Vita fairgate farms, Hubbard heights farm and Eden Farms also produce food in Stamford Since Stamford has a sea shore line, the ecosystem here also provides with seafood. ![Vita fairgate farm][1] ![enter image description here][2] ![enter image description here][3] (b) Regulating Services: Stamford is home to approximately 21 species of trees which include Common Honeylocust, Pin Oak, Northern red oak, Sweetgum, Red Maple, Silver Linden, Turkish Filbert etc. The city has been planned in a manner that there are green pockets between structures and are planted with trees and plants. And also since Stamford has majorly residential plots, all the individual houses have their own lawn area with trees. Thus the ecosystem helps in providing shade, regulate air quality. ![enter image description here][4] ![enter image description here][5] (c) Habitat or Supporting services: The Cove Island wild life sanctuary in Stamford is an 83 acre park. The park has diverse habitat which include sandy and rocky beaches, salt marsh, mud flats, estuary, a large pond (Holly Pond), the last undeveloped sand dune in Stamford, woods, cut lawn, fresh water wetlands, meadows and brushy areas. These habitats support 287 species of migratory birds as recorded till date. The park is also home to 50 species of butterflies. ![enter image description here][6] (d)Cultural Services: Stamford has 6 parks and 6 recreational sites where the activities include Ice skating, Golf, Horse riding, tennis, swimming, basketball, inner soccer, boating etc. The picture shown below is of Mill river park.
