For the provisioning services a characteristic ecosystem for Athens is the sea which is very dominant in the wider area of Athens, but it is also in close proximity to the city centre. The sea food coming from the sea has been a main source for the Athenians throughout the years. The photo is showing random fishermen at Alimos bay near the city centre. ![enter image description here][1] **b. Regulating services** For the regulating services I think that a good example for Athens are the trees of the streets. They are very common in most of Athenian streets, providing multifaceted services. They provide shade, they remove pollutants pollutants from the atmosphere while they also store carbon dioxide. Even the balconies of the houses that face the streets, it is very common to see them planted, providing similar services to the individual houses. ![enter image description here][2] **c. Habitat or Supporting services** For the Habitat Services, the ecosystem of the mountain of Hymettus acts as a habitat for the local flora and fauna that can be found in Attica. ![enter image description here][3] **d. Cultural services** Finally for the cultural services, the coastline of Athens provides excellent recreational services providing alternative attraction to the summer tourists. The picture is showing the coast of Vouliagmeni, one of the most popular in Athens and in close proximity to the city centre. ![enter image description here][4] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502039362846888.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1450204777491181.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502053545424624.jpg [4]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1450206113859896.jpg
