a. Provisioning services: 1. Food. The marine ecosystem in the Oslofjord provides abundant fresh fish, that can be bought directly from the fishermen at the harbour. ![enter image description here][1] 2. Raw materials: The forests around Oslo (Oslomarka) provide a great diversity of materials for construction and fuel, for example here wood derived from wild or cultivated species is stocked before being transported to the destination of use. ![enter image description here][2] 3. Fresh water: The quality and quantity of water available locally comes form the Maridal lake. It provides fresh drinking water for the city of Oslo. ![enter image description here][3] b. Regulating services: 1. Local climate and air quality: The picture shows the pedestrian path along the Aker river – 8 km of green in the city that influences positively the air quality and the local climate. Also helping in removing pollutants from the atmosphere. ![enter image description here][4] 2. Carbon sequestration and storage: This is the Botanical gardens in the city centre. They play an important role in preserving biodiversity and in removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. ![enter image description here][5] 3. Pollination: This is the The Vulkan Bigård project at Mathallen in Oslo: wooden hives have been designed and installed on the rooftop to encourage the presence of bees in the city and to educate visitors on how they importantly contribute to the environment. ![enter image description here][6] c. Habitat or Supporting services 1. Recreation and mental and physical health: The picture shows one of the many recreational areas located in Oslo providing free infrastructure for sports.
