Local climate and air quality* The inner land of Cyprus is composed by mountains which are full of trees. Those trees are able to filter harmful pollutants from the air, therefore provide an improved air quality. Also, those trees influence rainfall and water availability. What is more, they moderate extreme events such as avalanches and landslides. ![enter image description here][3] **C. One of the many famous monasteries of Cyprus is that of St. Neophytos, which is located less than 10km from where I live. The monastery was initially caved-in on a mountain by st. Neophytos. Similar monasteries and sacred places like that are spread through-out Cyprus. ![enter image description here][5] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502033072014882.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502033583846039.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502036387943868.jpg [4]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502041243685572.jpg [5]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14502042406898542.jpg
