Many things can be obtained from nearby ecosystems, being water, food and wood the main products that are extracted from these ecosystems. In the image we can see a **food production** ecosystem, orchards and greenhouses in the outskirts of the city. ![enter image description here][1] **2. Regulating services** Most regulating services that ecosystems offer inside the city's limits are related to shading and air quality regulation. As there is heavy traffic everywhere, each tree plays an important role in cleaning the atmosphere, but especially those in parks and gardens. **3. Habitat or supporting services** The city as a whole is an ecosystem, but it becomes of capital importance in those spots where animals are able to feed and shelter. Even in small parks as the one depicted in the photograph, there is a huge variety of animals, from insects and other invertebrates to amphibians and fishes to little rodents and birds. ![enter image description here][2] **4. Cultural services** Beautiful green spaces are highly demanded places for people to relax and play sports. Not only it attracts local people but also tourists, even more when it is mixed with historic sites and great views of the city. This is the case of the Mount of San Pedro, a great park built on an ancient coastal battery. Here, people come for just a walk, for running in the intrincate network of paths or learn a bit of the city's history. ![enter image description here][3] ![enter image description here][4] [1]: http://s13.postimg.org/bly3j916v/P1010470.jpg [2]: http://s3.postimg.org/4cy1ifhdv/20151211_121039.jpg [3]: http://s23.postimg.org/tbwu3ufqj/2012_09_06_19_22_21.jpg [4]: http://s18.postimg.org/jzej7p8sp/DSCF1093.jpg
