Ecosystems provide the conditions for growing food. Food comes principally from managed agro-ecosystems but marine and freshwater systems or forests also provide food for human consumption . In Larnaca we have a lot of fish not only from the open sea but also from aquaculture. ![enter image description here][1] 2.Cultural services : Tourism . Many tourist visit Larnaca every year to swim in the warm waters of Mediterranean sea. 3. Habitat or Supporting services : Habitats for species . Larnaca Salt Lake is a complex network of four salt lakes . the lake is the haunt of 85 species of water-birds with estimated populations between 20,000–38,000.[citation needed] It is one of the important migratory passages through Cyprus. Among them are 2,000–12,000 flamingoes (Phoenicopterus ruber)[5] which spend the winter months there feeding off populations of the brine shrimp Artemia salina. ![enter image description here][2] 4. Regulating services Local climate and air quality, Carbon sequestration and storage. Near Larnaca airport we have 2 big parks with trees Tekkes and Pattichion. Trees play an important role in regulating air quality by removing pollutants from the atmosphere. Trees are also storing and sequestering greenhouse gases that comes from our cars and from the airplains.
