Regulating services Talking about local climate and air quality, in 1957 there was a huge flood in Valencia, that affected the city centre (as the river crossed along the city). So government decided to change it's course to the south surroundings. Cultural services As you can see in the first picture, the old riverbed is plenty of green fields and surrounded by the most important historical buildings such as the Science Museum, the Opera House, the Fine Arts Museum or the historical city centre.
