a. Provisioning services: Food: Java island offers many areas to grow food. For instance, the city of Kerawang have been the main rice producing area located in West Java Raw Material: We have a lot of variety that can be obtained even if we limit the search area of Java island. For instance, the city of Cibinong is a main cement producing area in West Java. Fresh water: There are stream running from nearby mountain to Jakarta which have been a source of clean water. Medicinal resources: There are plenty of traditional medicine obtain from local ingredient which I am not very familiar with. b. Regulating services Local climate and air quality: Indonesia itself is home to large area of rain forest. Carbon sequestration and storage:: Again, Indonesia is home to large area of rain forest. Moderation of extreme events: Jakarta is having much flooding problem. As the video shows, we are working on it through water reservoir and greening in some part. Waste-water treatment: There are some basic services, much still is desired. Erosion prevention and maintenance of soil fertility:This is happening a lot. Mainly through housing need of growing population. Not sure how to solve this. Pollination: We have no problem with insect. We have more than we need. Biological control: There has been pest in farming, etc. Generally pesticide or similar measure is employed. c. Habitat or Supporting services Habitats for species: Java Island is highly populated. It has been that way for sometimes. At this point there are not much left for habitats. Though there are many more in other areas. Maintenance of genetic diversity: There are several endangered species that government is trying to protect. d. Cultural services Recreation and mental and physical health: There a couple park in Jakarta. There is this National Monument with surrounding park in the heart of the city where people can exercises. ![enter image description here][1] Tourism: There are plenty of this.
