location B = Grigny ( suburbs of Paris) Paris = 16°C Grigny = 12°C I explain this difference by the higher pollution in Paris, because of car traffic, buses, high consumption of energy & electricity... Moreover, we've seen that he majority of the building materials have a higher heat capacity than rural materials such as sand and grass. City centers are more effective at storing heat than their rural surroundings. Areas covered by buildings become large thermal masses that cannot release their heat rapidly. I took theses temperature on 3, november 2015 at 2 p.m. : there is no wind but a little bit of clouds I think the colors of new buildings ans roads have to be built in light colors to help the heat to release faster. I think buildings in bamboo are not able to protect us against the cold winter, so in my opinion it is not possible to make these types of buildings everywhere in the world, including in Paris. The splinkiers on the roof could be a great idea but it implies all people of the city, and I think a lot of them do not want to do some efforts now. Green walls are great ans beautiful, one is yet in Paris, on the wall of a museum (Musée du quai Branly). ![Green wall in Paris][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1446555808620377.jpg
