Oil products (94.1 Mtoe) Natural gas (55.3 Mtoe) Coal (7.1 Mtoe) **2) Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country?** Oil: transport (54.2 Mtoe), residential (22.1 Mtoe), non-energy use (18.9 Mtoe) Natural gas: residential (22.5 Mtoe), industry (19.2 Mtoe), commercial (10.7 Mtoe) Coal: industry (5.9 Mtoe), **3) It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy.** In order to give a resilient response to contemporary social, economic and environmental changes, since there are not empty space in the city anymore I will promote a vertical green infrastructure aiming to virally enter in the urban fabric. Existing derelict spaces will be then connected to create new safe pathways for fruits, groceries and vegetables to grow vertically, then to be shared properly as common goods. This strategy will consists of a NETWORK to link derelict landscape fragments/existing buildings; a kind of HARDWARE which may consists both on buildings to be recovered and new pavilion designed using renewable cross laminated wood and green components; a proper and a fully reversible/sustainable SOFTWARE to add flexibility to the whole urban device, thanks to the temporary (recycled container boxes) which may be attached. This strategy will allow to have a Co2 balancing and PM10 retaining plants, Hi-Tech energy devices and waste management etc…getting an urban and environmental requalification. Also promoting a green pedestrian network, the city will have a real efficient alternative to the transport by cars and motorbikes, that are responsible for most of the emissions and consumption of energy. I am aware that we can not change easily the society’s behavior but design the city and the buildings in a different way can be a good starting point to educate the people. Transport: I would boost the car sharing (promoting it continuously, also trying to improve it answering to the need of the users) and I would activate a network of quick and light shuttles as a real alternative to the huge bus, a public transport system that comes from two century ago, so definitely not appropriate for the modern days. For sure also the railway system needs to be redesigned in almost all the aspects, prices, flexibility, integration with other transport systems, comfort, services on board. ![A new green network in the preexisting city.][1] ![It is possibile to design a smart and livable city: bikes bridge in Copenhagen.][2] ![Go to school by car? here a great alternative.
