Average temperatures in surrounding rural area, villages and small towns, during the summer season is 30 °C. In general, the difference in temperature between the city of Benghazi and surrounding areas is perceptible. In the last ten years there have been attempts to develop a new urban plans for the city, but political corruption hindered all of the studies. Now, after the revolution, the situation continues as it is.
