**2. Which are the main UHI effects that you can identify in your area?** I think I live in between two UHI. I live in San Antonio de los Altos. This is a saltelite city of the capital, Caracas in Venezuela. It is located 1600 mts above the level of the sea, and now days is neither a rural or a dense high populated town, the majority of its population works in Caracas which is a biggest business center. The building were i live is in the main street of town, however, its back facade faces an non urbanized hill covered in dense vegetation. Main street ![main street][1] The hill, that can be seen from my bedroom ![ingrese la descripción de la imagen aquí][2] Even when, as shown in the pictures, theses a lot of vegetation both in the avenue and the hill, in the avenue we can experience a completely different UHI. The asphalt extension is rarely covered by the vegetation, this causing multiple reflections of the sun rays, making it really uncomfortable for pedestrians to walk by in the ours of the late morning and early afternoon. Also the buildings receive a share, however, since the climate is fresh, the buildings are designed considerating the insolation and there's a lot of wind, it's not mandatory to expend energy conditionating the spaces. On the other hand, in the facades facing the hill there's nice climate all over the day, even when the solar incidence is high. It is impressive, how without leaving the building it's possible to experience the effects of two different UHI **3. Which are the measures you would propose?** I would propose the construction of boulevards with vegetation along avenues that help reduce the solar incidence in streets and the reflection between buildings and the asphalt. **4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area?** It is not. There are some studies about the climate change about my country but none of them is about my city.
