In my area, Stockholm, according with "Road Climate in Cities:A Study of the Stockholm Area, South-East Sweden", the rural area is much colder than the urban area at night. However, the urban–rural variation is much smaller than the air temperature variation. The maximum difference (more than 4 °C) occurs at sunrise because the urban road surface temperature starts to rise two hours before sunset when the temperature at the rural site is still decreasing. ![Stockholm City Centre][1] ![Stockholm Rural Area][2] 3. Which are the measures you would propose? I will propose the preservation of the existing green areas and the creation of new ones. Stockholm is a city where green paths are integrated with the city, so the preservation of them is, for me, the most important. Also, the promoting of green roofs will be a good idea. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? Yes they do, the government is involved in several campaign against the climate change. One of them, for instance is the creation of an eco-friendly urban development, Hammarby Sjöstad.
