![enter image description here][1] ![enter image description here][2] Q2-One of the main UHI factors in my area would be pollution. Air in Paris is becoming more and more polluted which makes the city warmer due to the glass house effect. The fact that some of the boulevards are very wide which makes it easier for light to penetrate which makes it warmer. Cars have access to the main arteries of the city which makes it more prone to the polluted air which raises temperature. The fact that them main roads are right beside the main pedestrian area can be problematic. Paris has a number of parks but these are relatively large and concentrated in a couple areas. The advantage of having smaller parks would offer more diverse microclimates which Paris lacks. Inside haussmanian buildings , courtyards offer shade and a milder microclimate that also protects appartments around it. The courtyards are usually narrow enough not to let too much light in and to offer a comfortable experience. Q3-As stated previously , paris being a very dense city needs more parks inside the city. The administrative limits of the city are a trick that integrates the bois de boulogne and Vincennes in the metropolitan Paris area to reach the green area ratio when in fact these two parks are very big and not commonly used by parisians living far from the 16th or 12th arrondissement. That is why the city needs more green roofs to create more microclimates and cool down the buildings.Being densely populated also means that wind is blocked and that could solved if courtyards are optimised. 4- UHI is taken very seriously in Paris and is being closely studied and integrated in urban policies. The use of cooling system, Green walls and Greeneries in buildings are proving to be efficient solutions to the problem.
