I checked the following cities : New-york : the difference temperature can go up to 20 degree F and the average is 2.7 degree F Los Angeles: the difference temperature can go up to 27 degree F and the average is 2.4 degree F Las Vegas : the difference temperature can go up to 24 degree F and the average is 7.3 degree F Chicago : the difference temperature can go up to 21 degree F and the average is 2.2 degree F **2. question :** I currently live in Hanoi, Vietnam. The today temperature according to an online website is 28C for the center and 27C for the direct countryside. I can not be sure than the information are correct but the small difference could be explained by the following points : the weather was cloudy today, no much sun radiation, in the center there are many lakes, the streets are narrow with large trees all along. The urban fabric are dense and low. At the moment, the season is also quiet wet as Hanoi is in a tropical area. On the pictures we can see Hanoi and one of its lake, only few mid-rise and high rise constructions pop out of the green belt. People live, work, and go out at the same place. Unfortunately this model is not any more respected and the new masterplan of the city doesn't follow the same idea. If I could I would follow the same model with some adaptations to fit with the today needs and infrastructure. **Question 4 :** The main objectif of the city is to build a new traffic network and infrastructure to answer to the new needs of the emerging city. Hanoi wants to become a bigger city to increase his influence on the international scene. Its concern is more to grow fast and to quickly fix the today problems either to build and environnement with quality. Architects and politics are interesting in this question. There are aware of the necessity for Hanoi to built a sustainable and livable city but the discussion and the studies only start.
