2.Rural Tirana area![enter image description here][2] Tirana is the capital city of Albania and the urbanization rate of the city is also growing so rapidly.The air pollution rate has also emerged as one of the biggest threats to residents of the area. There has been various studies on the air quality and heat effect zones. The temperature of the city is also rising every year due to rise in urbanization and population growth in the expansion of it. Road transportation is the major source of pollution in the urban centre of Tirana followed by other forms of domestic and commercial combustion. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), 39 degree Celsius, which was recorded in 2010, is the highest recorded temperature. Likewise, many districts in the Eastern, Central and Western regions of Albanial have also seen rising temperature in the recent days. The impact of heat waves and climate change is serious and has already affected the lives of many villages/towns . During the last 25 years, 2,3 degree Celsius has increased in Tirana. At this pace of urbanization, temperature rise and air pollution rate, UHI effect will be felt more than as todays as the city is already experiencing hot summers and warm winters. The increase in the no. of population will also increase the effect settlement pattern in the area. The people of Tirana are losing away their traditional way of architecture and urban planning to the modern concrete and high rise buildings. The city must adopt a good urban planning for the livability in the city. We must shift to the sustainable modes of transport and the healthy way of sustainable living in our daily life. The need for renewable energy like solar is also must in the city and transferring our habits of fuel-based lifestyle to renewable-based life style is also important.
