1. Check the temperature differences in US cities Since I live in a smaller city close to Cleveland ( 45-48 miles away), I noticed that the temperature was much cooler in Cuyahoga Falls compared to Cleveland. In summer the temperature was warmer than Cleveland and in winter as well. Cleveland’s temperature is also affected due to the Lake effect of Lake eerie. 2.Which are the main UHI effects that you can identify in your area? Cuyahoga falls, is a small city in summit county in Ohio, USA. The main causes of UHI are air pollution due to the industrial belt. Increase of public transportation. The lack of public transportation has increased the owning of private vehicles and adds to the pollution. 4.Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? Yes. The most effective one has been the Clean river Act passed around 1970s along with few environmental laws which helped in reviving the dead Cuyahoga river. ![enter image description here][5] The river which recovered the deathly pollutants of the industrial phase due to the enforced laws.
